Chapter 6624And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
The Book of Isaiah is one of the Prophetic books of the Bible. In the first 39 chapters Isaiah prophesies doom for a sinful Judah and for all the nations of the world that oppose God. The last 27 chapters prophesy the restoration of the nation of Israel and prophecies of a new creation in God's glorious future kingdom. This section includes the Songs of the Suffering Servant, four separate passages understood by Jews and modern scholars to refer to the nation of Israel, but interpreted by Christians as prefiguring the coming of Jesus Christ.
